  • USDA SBR forecast, issued 7/25: For 7/26-27 -- A frontal system over the eastern half of the country will produce showers and storms across the Midwest as well as parts of MS and AL on Sat. before moving eastward later in the weekend, bringing precipitation to much of FL. High pressure settling in behind the remnants of Dolly will usher in hot and dry conditions for much of eastern TX and LA.
Risk Area: High pressure in the Gulf of Mexico will cause wind patterns over AL, GA and FL to blow in a generally southern direction, containing much of the spore transport to areas adjacent to currently infected areas. The frontal system moving across that region will provide a slight risk for spore deposition and survival as well. Winds over TX and LA will be light, hindering and significant spore transport. Without any rain or notable cloud cover as well, spore deposition and survival will be minimal.
